His first role in the financial services field came soon after graduation, when Gonzalez was hired as a quantitative consultant by Factset Research Systems, Inc. Here, he worked with clients to build ranking models for equity research. His efforts resulted in a 25% increase in sales while allowing the firm to expand its operations in Europe and beyond.
In 2000, Eduardo joined the team of Invesco as part of a three-person equity fund management team. His skills in market and fund research proved invaluable; the Houston, Texas firm improved in Morningstar rank over a one-year period from the 92nd percentile to the 20th percentile versus peer group. Eduardo’s team managed a $500 million multi-cap, multi-sector equity fund.

After leaving Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management in 2015, Eduardo Gonzalez joined Lazard Asset Management as a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management team. His team is responsible for managing both commodity futures and commodity-related equities, focusing on the agricultural/livestock sector. By analyzing and processing ESG factors and sustainable investment strategies, the portfolios he manages have grown substantially in value. He continues to provide his expertise and believes in sharing his resources with others.
Service to the Hoboken Community
In 2015, Eduardo Gonzalez ran for a 5th-ward Hoboken City Council position. The city was facing significant financial hurdles, particularly in the small business sector. Gonzalez brought to bear his extensive financial experience, and was well-suited to provide impactful solutions to the city. Unfortunately, he was not elected.
As a resident of Hoboken, Eduardo Gonzalez believes strongly in supporting his community and the environment in which he lives and works. He is a vocal advocate for “green living”, choosing to reduce his environmental impact by making sustainable choices in energy use and by carefully analyzing his family’s lifestyle. Simple measures like these can make a positive difference in quality of life, and he has shared his insights with many others in the Hoboken community.
Mr. Gonzalez is also an active supporter of charter school programs in Hoboken. In fact, he was Board President of the Elysian Charter School for 4 years and served on the board for 7 years. He would like to see an expansion of charter programs to improve school choices available to the community.
